The pre-school requires a dedicated kitchen space, so that the current building can become a fully functioning classroom

Location: Bonteheuwel, Western Cape

About: Gwendoline Lendford established Central Educare in 2010 and is currently renting the premises from a nearby primary school. The children occupy a classroom which has been sub-divided to include a small kitchen at the back, so that the teachers have a space to prepare and cook hot meals for the children.

Challenge: Gwendoline currently has 14 children at the pre-school and is quickly outgrowing the small space that is available. The pre-school requires a dedicated kitchen space of their own, so that the current building can become a fully functioning classroom, providing the necessary space for growth.

The need: A 6m container kitchen will provide a much-needed separate, hygienic space for the teachers to prepare hot meals for the children, also allowing for a more spacious classroom area for the growing number of children.

Beneficiaries: 14 children (aged 1 to 5)
