A 36m² classroom will allow the children of Nompumelelo Educare Centre to grow and learn in a safe environment
Location: Philippi East, Western Cape
About: Principal Xoliswa Mangiya opened her school in 1998 with 10 children. She wanted to create a business opportunity for herself, while also supporting the many children in her community who were not attending a pre-school. She can see the impact her educare has on the lives of the children and parents in her community and would love a new and safe classroom to continue providing a solid educational foundation for the little ones in her care.
Challenge: With 50 children attending the Educare, Xoliswa is running out of space to provide a safe and comfortable environment for them. A second classroom will allow her to split the classes and offer an age-appropriate educational programme for all of the children so that they are school ready.
The need: A 36m² classroom will allow the children of Nompumelelo Educare Centre to grow and learn in a safe and nurturing environment.
Beneficiaries: 50 children between the ages of two and six.
