In the month of October 2019, Breadline Africa delivered three 12m container classrooms to three Early Childhood Development Centres in the province of Mpumalanga. Zenzele Daycare Centre, Sechaba Day Care Centre and Good hope Educare Centre were the proud recipients of much needed classroom facilities.  This makes a total of 6 units that Breadline Africa has donated to ECDs in Mpumalanga in partnership with The Topsy Foundation.

The Topsy Foundation is an internationally-respected South African NPO that partners with the most under-resourced,  rural communities, empowering them through a multi-faceted approach to overcome extreme poverty. In Mpumalanga, much of the work undertaken by Topsy, involves transforming and supporting ECDs to become strong, authentic community centres that offer the young child opportunities and provide them with access to quality early childhood services.

The addition of the three classroom facilities at the three ECDs will provide space for expansion and increased enrolment for pre-Grade R learners. A Total of 231 children coming from the communities of Siyathemba and Greylingstad will benefit, furthermore the work of The Topsy Foundation will be strengthened.

Breadline Africa is confident that the principals – Deliwe Mabuya, Nomahlubi Radebe and Nomcebi Khumalo – have claimed back their confidence and embraced their new lease to embark on their appreciated teaching journeys.
