About the project:

Grow with Pretty Palms Educare Centre was established in the community of Bellair in Durban, KwaZulu Natal in 2012 by principal and owner Bilkish Vawda. The pre-school has been built on land that was purchased for the centre by Bilkish’s husband. The pre-school is awaiting formal early childhood development centre registration with the appropriate authorities.

The challenge:

This well-run pre-school recently received a five-star rating from their development partner, GROW Educare but don’t have funds to increase the facilities at the pre-school. Unfortunately, the principal was defrauded by a local building contractor and she lost the money she had been saving for building alterations. The pre-school urgently needs an additional classroom structure.

The need:

A classroom is urgently needed to provide more space and to accommodate new enrollments. A 30m² prefab classroom will allow Grow with Pretty Palms Educare Centre to continue to provide a five-star learning experience to the children in the community.
