About the project:

In 1990, Senianya Primary School was established in a very rural and impoverished part of Mpumalanga. Learners come from poverty-stricken families; and most parents are unemployed and depend on social grants.

The challenge:

More than 30% of learners are orphans or from child-headed households and don’t have support at home. The school currently uses a small classroom as a library but there is no space for the children to sit and read.

The need:

A 30m² prefabricated library will allow the children who attend Senianya Primary School a space to enjoy a book and fall in love with reading.
