About the project:

Sophakama Play School was established in 2012, and is a registered early childhood development centre providing basic early learning to the 29 children attending, in a safe, friendly environment from 7am to 4pm. The educators receive support from the Knysna Education Trust.

The challenge:

The centre doesn’t have a dedicated kitchen space or enough toilets for the children. There is also a need to refurbish classrooms that were received from Breadline Africa several years ago, allowing the principal to separate the toddlers and babies.

The need:

The centre urgently needs a kitchen, toilet infrastructure and a classroom upgrade.
