Melanie trained as a journalist and began her career in resource mobilisation at a blood bank before moving on to corporate social investment and public affairs for a papermaking concern in KwaZulu Natal. She has more than 20 years’ experience of both grantmaking and fundraising. Her recent roles have included guiding organisations in their development strategy and measuring the impact of their interventions. She also is a successful trainer and mentor, and has raised money for causes as diverse as St Mary’s Hospital in Mariannhill and the University of Cape Town. She has held senior positions in several large non-profit organisations.
Melanie serves on the board of Positive Vibes, a Namibia-registered organisation and is a council member of Northlink College.
