Established in 1939, the school serves Grade 4 to 7 learners, boasting a total enrolment of 610 children. Particularly noteworthy is the school’s provision of a daily feeding programme, benefiting 150 children from struggling households.

Realising the pressing requirement for infrastructure upgrades, Principal Eduard Hattingh sought assistance from Sun GrandWest. The team engaged Breadline Africa, resulting in the renovation of the school’s kitchen, dining area, and sickbay. This partnership has revitalised these spaces into safe, hygienic environments where children can enjoy wholesome meals.

Mervyn Naidoo, General Manager of Sun GrandWest, emphasised the significance of backing schools like De Waveren Primary, where staff exhibit remarkable motivation and passion.

He praised the collaborative in identifying worthy schools and pledged ongoing support for community development.
