On Tuesday, 12 March 2024, De Waveren Primary School in Ruyterwacht celebrated a significant milestone launching the newly refurbished facilities, provided by Sun GrandWest. Established in 1939, the school serves Grade 4 to 7 learners, boasting a total enrolment of 610 children. Particularly noteworthy is the school’s provision of a daily feeding programme, benefiting 150 children from struggling households.

Realising the pressing requirement for infrastructure upgrades, Principal Eduard Hattingh sought assistance from Sun GrandWest. The team engaged Breadline Africa, resulting in the renovation of the school’s kitchen, dining area, and sickbay. He praised the collaborative in identifying worthy schools and pledged ongoing support for community development.
