Providing health and hope through a kitchen for Eagle’s Nest Christian Primary School
In the heart of Wallacedene, Kraaifontein, Cape Town, Eagle’s Nest Christian Primary School has been a lifeline for 465 children, offering education from Grade R to 7. In this critically under-resourced community, the school does more than teach, it nurtures, protects and sustains young lives. For many of these children, school is the only place where they receive a nutritious meal. But there’s a huge challenge, there is no proper kitchen.
Without a functional cooking facility, the school struggles to provide the essential nourishment these children need to learn, grow and stay healthy.
By supporting this initiative, your organisation will directly improve the health and future of 465 children, ensuring that every meal served at Eagle’s Nest is a step towards a brighter and healthier future.
The school’s feeding programme relies on an informal arrangement that is inadequate and unhygienic, posing serious risks to both health and food safety.
Without a proper kitchen:
A 20m² prefab kitchen, designed to school specifications, would transform meal provision at Eagle’s Nest, ensuring that every child receives safe and nutritious food in a clean environment.
