Thank you for considering leaving a gift in your Will to help generations of children in South Africa to learn and grow. Gifts like the one you are considering right now, form the foundations upon which we are able to build the futures of thousands of South African children.

How your gift will help

Even a modest gift becomes a powerful catalyst for change, enabling us to provide vital infrastructure for education.

Like many of our dedicated donors who have already left a bequest in their Will, you may rest assured that your wishes will be honoured. Once you have remembered family and friends in your Will, you may decide to leave a gift to the children of Breadline Africa.

With a legacy gift we can continue providing sustainable solutions to under-resourced communities and vulnerable people. Breadline Africa’s community-based projects are clustered into three main groups and your gift will help us to continue our work in these areas

If you already have a Will and simply wish to add a gift to Breadline Africa, you can complete a codicil form and store it with your Will. A codicil is read alongside your Will and allows you to make changes without having to rewrite it. We would recommend you visit a solicitor for advice on making a codicil.

Beneficiary Voices

“It’s been a wonderful thing to see the joy and excitement in the eyes of our children as the library started taking shape. We’re  excited to open the doors and let the children enjoy the incredible  resource that has been created for them.”

Shahid Mathews – Principal, Cecil Road Primary School

“I would like to thank everyone. Before, it was difficult and even dangerous to cook in the  classroom, so I would have to  wake up at 4am to start preparing meals at my home. On the day  that the new kitchen container arrived, I was like a young child – beyond excited! I even got out of bed on the first night to make  sure it was real and still there. I  will keep thanking you all until the sun goes down.”

Frequently asked questions

When is a good time to make a Will?

The simple answer is now. Surprisingly, many people die without making a Will, which means family or friends left behind may face some tricky problems. By making a Will now, you can have the peace of mind that you have protected your estate and provided for your loved ones.

What else can I do?

Many people prefer to see donations made to Breadline Africa in lieu of floral tributes. If this is stated in your Will, the executors can make sure that your wishes are known.

Should I tell Breadline Africa that I have left a legacy gift?

This is up to you. Charities like to know in advance so they can both acknowledge your generosity and make sure they can accommodate your wishes.

What if I don’t have a lot of money?

While some gifts may be large, many are small. Regardless of size, all gifts are important to help continue our vital work.
