About the project:

Kedibone Ngwenya established Bokedi Children Centre after noticing that children from the Klipgat community could not even write their own names upon entering primary school. At that time, all centres in the area functioned solely as daycare centres rather than Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres, and Kedibone aimed to elevate the standard of education for young children in Klipgat.

The challenge:

The centre operates form a 3x3m zinc shack structure and urgently needs more classrooms to be able to enrol more children and appropriately separate classes for different age groups.

The need:

The centre needs significant intervention and Breadline Africa plans to provide 2 prefabricated classrooms, as well as an office.
